- Dr. Crow has over 35 years of professional nursing practice in a variety of roles and settings.
Dr. Crow has over 35 years of professional nursing practice in a variety of roles and settings. His clinical experience includes acute cardiac care, Ob-gyn, Labor and Delivery, and in-patient Psychology. His administrative and leadership positions have included clinical supervisor, director of nursing, and assistant hospital administrator for patient care services for a multi-hospital system.
Greg is Emeritus Professor and former director of graduate programs in leadership, case management and education at California State University, Sonoma. Greg is an expert on share governance models (including interdisciplinary approaches) and structural empowerment applications in health systems of all sizes and purpose.
Dr. Crow has been a Senior Consultant with Tim Porter O’Grady Associates for 20 years. In addition, he is adjunct professor and Director of the Vietnam Nurse Project (VNP) (www.usfca.edu/nursing/Vietnam) at the University of San Francisco, School of Nursing and Health Professions (USF/SON&HP). He leads the VNP collaboration with institutions of higher learning and medical facilities to raise the education and practice standards for nurses in Vietnam. In 2013 Dr. Crow funded a demonstration project for VNP to launch Virtual Nursing Grand Rounds between USF/SON& HP and Thanh Nhan Hospital Intensive Care Unit, Ha Noi, Vietnam. The program will be expanded in 2014 to include two additional medical center intensive care units in cooperation with the Vietnam Nurses Association.
Greg is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, and previously served as an editor for the Sigma Theta Tau International monograph series. He is also a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, the Jesuit honor society, and served as a Director at Large for the Oncology Nursing Society.
Dr. Crow consults internationally in organizational and systems development, creating motivating work environments, transformational change and the implementation of shared governance systems including Magnet® structural empowerment processes. He presents on these topics at state, national and international conferences. Dr. Crow’s publications appear in a wide variety of professional nursing journals and textbooks. Greg is considered an expert on 21st Century management roles and skills and is one of the most popular teachers of our management development programs.
